Now book your private Jets with cryptocurrencies like Ripple XRP, Litecoin LTC and Bitcoin BTC through TapJets extended support
TapJets – a mobile application, allows its users to access and book private jets without any membership requirements. They offer a quick 30-second booking as well as auction facilities for jet owners. Their mission from a long ago was to leverage technology and change the way people book private jet travel, for the betterment of it. Bookings can be done by any individual or through travel agency almost instantly.
The company was the first of its kind to allow its clients make payments with bitcoin, the original currency of the crypto market, to offer instantaneous bookings. This was followed by an extension towards Ethereum sooner and the use of their smart contracts. To expand further, as the entire world is witnessing the capabilities of cryptocurrencies and the emerging market, they posted a poll on Twitter earlier this month.
To get their hands on cryptocurrencies and meet the demands of the crypto customers, the poll opened by them on May 15th was to seek guidance from the overwhelming and vocal communities of cryptocurrency adopters about what altcoins should further be added as part of the payment process. The team announced later on, “we at TapJets were watching and learning as thousands of comments, likes, and retweets challenged our social media management platform. ”
Following up, they tweeted:
“OFFICIAL TALLY: After
@TapJets meeting re #XRP #LTC #XVG payment options for #FLYTAPJETS we have posted our official response. Looking forward to accepting new currency on June 1.”
They also announced “TapJets will proceed to the technical evaluation of Ripple (XRP) and Litecoin (LTC). We plan to complete our assessment that includes API testing, exchange transaction testing, and other validations by May 28, 2018.”
Further stating, some of this activity would depend on how agile development teams of XRP/LTC are to our requests. It is our goal to allow TapJets clients to use these alt-coins on June 1, 2018. We have been in contact with LTC team already and will be reaching out to XRP team on Monday.
The CEO of TapJets also mentioned in the post that they look forward to hosting the Verge community by accepting XVG as their payment option as they believe Verge has a strong following and lots of potentials.
He expressed regarding the same in a blog post:
“I want to recognize the Verge community. You have forced us to think about significant changes to UX so that additional coins can be added in the future without compromising a checkout experience. You have my commitment that in very near future we will be working on another viable altcoin addition to this new UX, and Verge is on top of my list.”
As they claim their obsession with making the UI as simple as possible, they collectively decided to accept new payment method in order to ensure their customer base which is over 18,000 have minimal impact to their in-app user experience. The exchange rate is accurate and accounts for all of the fees.
The clear Winner fo the poll was Ripple’s XRP but TapJets decided to add Litecoin [LTC] along as well. Few users were seen expressing claims of how unfair this was to which Charlie Lee, the founder of Litecoin replied through tweets expressing:
“So they should just go with the winner of a gameable social poll? The poll was to get people chatting and by all accounts, it was a huge success. So they decided to go with the top 2. Is that not good? If Litecoin had won and they decided to also support XRP, I for sure wouldn’t be crying foul on Twitter. I didn’t expect them to just go with the poll results without taking other things (liquidity, ease of implementation) into account. What smart company would do that?”
The latest Tweet from the TapJets team stated:
“Update from our CEO on
#XRP Ripple efforts. Stay tuned and follow for more and upcoming announcements on the topic.”
Eugene Kesselman, the CEO of TapJets tweeted a followup on their efforts for the same where he mentioned about his call with Miguel Vias as he ensured progress. They have also contacted Kraken exchange for assistance with XRP.
The CEO also mentioned:
“Things are looking good for XRP with help of Ripple. Will continue to provide updates on our progress.”
